You like the idea of inviting a couple of talented, comically-gifted musicians to your next event, but you’ve got a few inquiries about how things are going to play out.
No problem – take a look at some of our most frequently asked questions, and rest easy knowing that we’ve got the entertainment for your next big event covered.
Calgary Dueling Pianos was founded in 2005. It’s owned and operated by Keith Floen – a veteran musician and pianist extraordinaire with over 30 years of performance experience under his belt.
If there’s a party in Alberta, BC, or Saskatchewan, you can bet your bottom dollar that we’ll be happy to make the trip out!
Not a lot! As long as we’ve got space for our two pianos and room to take a seat, we’re good to go!
Only about an hour! We’ve been at this for a while now, so we’re pretty lightning-quick when it comes to rolling in, setting the stage, and starting the entertainment on time.
Nope! We bring our own set-up in with us – just one less thing for you to have to worry about!
We generally like to cap things off at about 3 hours (including a 30-minute break after the first 90-minutes). That’s about the perfect amount of time before it starts to feel like too much a good thing – we wouldn’t want to become the song that overstayed its’ welcome!
Not for Calgary Dueling Pianos. We come fully decked-out with our own liability insurance and are in good standing with the WCB. The last thing you should be worried about when planning an event is the piano guy falling off the stage and hurting himself!
Not usually, but we will if you want us to! Audience requests and participation are a big part of our entertainment style, so generally, we like to play it fast and loose, and just pump out the tunes that your guests want to hear. That said, we can put together a list of songs you’d like to hear in advance – but we do encourage you to let us live like the dangerous, wild-and-carefree, pianists that we are!
Was it Stairway to Heaven? We follow a strict No Stairway rule here.
But in all seriousness, we’ll play just about any song you bring to us, as long as the lyrics are PG and the person paying our fees at the end of the night didn’t expressly forbid us from playing it.
